Perhaps you have run out of your favorite beauty product, or time, or money... Our beauty tips offer quick fixes for your eyes, lips, cheeks, and skin, helping you look beautiful, naturally!

CREATE YOUR OWN LIP COLOR

If you have run out of lipstick, or can’t find the right one, use your favorite eyeliner pencil to outline your lips and fill in with Vaseline or lip gloss for a beautiful, natural look. You should use softer shades, as black may give a rather harsh effect.

CREATE YOUR OWN MAKEUP REMOVER

If you run out of your usual makeup remover or prefer natural cosmetics, you can use different kinds of vegetable-based oils to remove makeup (including mascara). Try grapeseed, apricot kernel, sweet almond, or hazelnut oils (best for greasy skin), as they do not leave residues and greasiness on the skin. Always avoid contact with the eyes themselves.

CREATE YOUR OWN TINTED MOISTURIZER

If in summer you find that you don’t need a full layer of foundation, but still some coverage, make your own tinted moisturizer by mixing a small amount of your foundation with facial moisturizer on your palm, and applying lightly to the face. Do not rub it in as this could cause breakouts.

ENHANCING YOUR CHEEKBONES

We would all love to have great cheekbones, and one way of enhancing them is using undereye corrector in a slightly darker shade than your skin tone, for example, mid beige. Apply it to your cheekbones over your foundation and blend it downwards carefully with the tips of the fingers. Next, apply the translucent powder and see the effect this has on your cheekbones.

ENHANCING YOUR EYES

Use an angled eye brush to draw a line underneath your lashes using undereye corrector as if it were eyeliner. You could also use a pencil undereye corrector. It gives an incredible light to your eyes!

HIGHLIGHTING THE VOLUME OF THE LIPS

To enhance the volume of your lips, use two lipsticks: a darker one that you first apply to the whole lip area, and a lighter one in a similar color that you only apply to the center of the lips, giving the illusion of greater volume.

KEEP YOUR MAKE-UP BRUSHES IN GOOD CONDITION

The best way to keep your makeup brushes in good condition is by washing them regularly with shampoo or shower gel and rinsing thoroughly under warm running water. Press them into an old towel to remove excess moisture, and leave to dry naturally so that the bristles do not get damaged.

LARGER AND MORE EXPRESSIVE EYES

If you want your eyes to look larger and more expressive, add a little white shadow on top of what you have already applied. Blend it into the center of the eyelid, at the bottom.

LONGER-LASTING MAKEUP

After putting on my makeup, I spray my face lightly with a mineral water spray mist. This makes my skin look soft and dewy, and my makeup stays on longer. You could also spray your face with spa water after applying your moisturizer, giving your skin a glow.

LUSCIOUS LASHES

To give your eyelashes more volume and to make them look longer, apply a small amount of Vaseline to your lashes and then your mascara. It works a treat.

MAKEUP IN A HURRY

If you suddenly need to look your best and all you have is a lipstick on you, don’t panic. Use the lipstick to add blush to your cheeks, add a slight touch of shadow to your eyes, and paint your lips. It should look good, as your “makeup” will have the same tone.

SHINE-FREE

Once you have applied your makeup, to stop your makeup from running and to prevent shine, wrap an ice cube in a facial tissue and use it to massage the whole face. The tissue will remove any excess foundation and the ice will fix the rest. The result is longer-lasting makeup and a shine-free finish.

TRANSLUCENT LOOSE POWDER

After applying all of my makeup, I use a large makeup brush to dust my face with translucent loose powder for a flawless look. For special occasions, I also apply the powder to my cleavage and shoulders.
