A birthstone is a precious or semi-precious gemstone that symbolizes the birth month and is traditionally associated with various qualities.

  • February – Amethyst
  • March – Aquamarine or blue topaz
  • April – Diamond
  • May – Emerald
  • June – Moonstone, pearl or alexandrite
  • July – Ruby
  • August - Peridot
  • September – Sapphire
  • October – Opal or tourmaline
  • November – Citrine or yellow topaz
  • December – Turquoise or zircon

Zodiac stones

Astrologers assigned different colored gems to the twelve signs of the zodiac to help people influence the planets in their favor. These gemstones are believed to confer health, wealth, luck, and other powers on the wearer.
