The Southwestern Fair Commission, Inc., a non-profit corporation, has operated the Pima County Fairgrounds since the 1970's. This is a commission established by Pima County to operate the facility for them. Under the agreement, all revenue earned from operations is put back into the facility in improvements. Over the years, more than two million dollars of improvements have been made to the facility with proceeds from operations. The Fairgrounds comprise a 640-acre facility designed for diverse uses.
