Trader Vic's has opened its 22nd location at Dinah's Garden Hotel. The highly anticipated restaurant, which officially launched late November 2001, was the first Trader Vic's to open in the United States in 28 years. The restaurant offers an exotic menu permeated with European, Chinese and Polynesian influences. Specialties include wood-fired oven delights reminiscent of the Han Dynasty and exquisite wok selections such as the Pork Chop Hawaiian with Maui Onions Marmalade, Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes, Snow Peas, Black Mushrooms and Red Bell Peppers. The new Trader Vic's Palo Alto location strays away from the Tiki bar idea toward a more refined concept. San Francisco architecture design firm, Architecture & Light, has created a space that remains true to the Polynesian theme while incorporating elegance and comfort. Victor was infamous due to his "big personality" and his unique creation the now famous Mai Tai.
