Located In the heart of the Central Coast's wine country, just 7 minutes North of Paso Robles, nestled alongside Highway 101 in the small mission town of San Miguel is one of the most extraordinary restaurants in California. No menus, always chef's choice and only open Fri. Sat. and Sunday nights, The Tenth Street Basque Cafe offers a unique dining experience coupled with wonderful Central Coast Wines. A typical dinner will consist of Spanish Tapas such as albacore fish cakes with tarragon butter sauce, stuffed mushrooms, Basque potatoes, cabbage and fennel, homemade bread with olive tapenade, migas, one of our famous home made soups, salad with homemade dressing and homemade croutons, a main course and dessert. Examples of our main courses are: Smoked roast beef (smoked over old wine barrel staves) with a reduced merlot sauce. The Pyrenees, a layer of cream spinach, layer of smoked beef, layer of garlic mashed potatoes, wrapped in phyllo dough and served with a hunter sauce. Pork loin stuffed with dried fruits served with an orange glaze. Whole salmon cooked on a cedar plank in our stone oven. Chicken with rosemary in a white wine sauce, or if you are very lucky...
