The first Sunday School in Cache was organized by a Methodist, Samuel W, Banks, in the spring of 1903. The attendance was small and met in the printing office of Johnnie T. Jamison. Mr. Banks served as Superintendent until the spring of 1907. A brush arbor meeting was held and members became enthusiastic to build a church. A wood frame. Structure sprang into existence with members and the Aid Society working hard. unday afternoon, July 5, 1926, the church was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. The few members were undaunted by so much misfortune and began building on the same land, this time a nice concrete structure. The best looking building in town. Today's church building was built in 1981, and the Fellowship Hall was added in 1985. The Stephen Series is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around your congregation. The Stephen Series provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the congregation. In Stephen Ministry congregations, lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it.
