In 1971 at the age of fourteen I learned how to play the guitar from a neighbor kid, Ed Petry, where I found solace in this new world of music from the grief of my mothers recent death. I continued my music education with private instruction from various teachers and followed it up with guitar classes in high school and college. In 1978 I started playing in original and cover bands, all over California, Mexico, and Las Vegas. Thru the years I was writing my own music on the side, and by 2005 I felt it was about time to record and perform my own music. I grew up listening to my older brother and sister's music: Pop, Rock n Roll, Soul, R&B. Later, aside from their music, I started listening to and playing Progressive Rock, Hard Rock, Jazz and the Blues, so naturally I was influenced by these styles of music. The Music. These songs are based on my thoughts, beliefs, emotions, dreams, and also a desire to express my feelings about life`s experiences. Various occurrences and things have been the catalyst thru which they were born. Hopefully the listener will be influenced in a positive way to find their creative voice also. People, like guitars, are unique, with a sound of their own. The Goal. Children are the bright lights of the world`s future. Because of this, it is my belief that music in schools helps kids stay on a positive note. Taking time to listen to what a child says and supply them with the resources to express themselves is of utmost importance, especially the orphaned and underprivileged ones, being the most vulnerable. Music enables children of all ages to express themselves in their own creative way, and funding for this in schools has proven to help academically and socially. Dedication. I am dedicating this CD to my parents who are mostly responsible for the person I am today, and God the ultimate creator, and to anyone who has wanted to express themselves in a creative way. A portion from the sales of this CD will help support music programs in our schools, activity centers and any other place where positive creativity is promoted. Hence, if we create we do not destroy.
