George Cebra has been a professional musician for many years. He studied trumpet at the Chicago Conservatory of Music, played trumpet in the United States Marine Corps Band, attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston and studied bass violin with William Curtis and also Ortiz Walton of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He then graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music with a degree in Music Education. In Boston, he performed with jazz greats such as Herb Pomeroy, Dick Johnson and Jimmy Mosher, also backing up singers like Billy Eckstine, Al Hibbler and the Four Freshmen at the "Surf Club" in Boston. George lived in Los Angeles for 10 years. He was house bassist at the Redondo Jazz in Redondo Beach, where he performed with Jazz greats like Sam Most, Jackie Kelso, Frank Strazzari, Marty Harris, Alan Broadbent, Frank Colette, Jack Wilson, and Freddie Red. He has also played at the famous "Lighthouse Jazz Club" in Hermosa Beach with Dwight Dickerson and Lawrence Marable. Mr. Cebra has been the bassist at many concerts sponsored by "The Committee on Jazz", performing with such renowned artists such as Jerome Richardson, Oscar Braescher, Guido Mahones, Lou Matthews, Sherman Ferguson, Billy Higgins, Bob Efford, Benny Powell, Herman Riley and Buster Cooper.
