On January 6, 2004 Prom World Mega Store opened its doors to a capacity crowd at 1019-C Collier Road. Since the opening, customers have flocked from cities across the south for the best selection of prom dresses in the area. No stranger to Prom, owner Chris Henry has been involved in manufacturing, designing and selling prom and special occasion dresses for over 10 years as President of Panoply Design. Henry discovered a need in this part of the country for a prom store that was not just a store but a destination and right of passage for prom girls in the Southeast. He conceived of a warehouse type approach, with high ceilings and lots of room to showcase thousands of dresses. Taking key elements from the best prom retailers in the country, such as a large number of dressing rooms, tremendous inventory and selection and an amazing collection of shoes, jewelry and undergarments. He has created the first Prom Mega Store. Prom World Mega Store carries the entire Panoply Design line, one of the best and most beautiful prom lines in the country, as well as All major prom designers. Prom World Mega Store also carries dresses exclusive to the store that cannot be purchased anywhere else in the country. Pageant and evening gowns are also available. One feature of Prom World is that all dresses are registered and no dress in the same color will be sold to the same school. The friendly and knowledgeable staff contribute to the appeal of the store.
