The Bell Family opened Reno Gallery of Furniture in 1986, in a Reno location on Gentry Way. They started with a sales and delivery staff which luded their family,   one more employee and one delivery van. In 1988, they opened a second store at Sierra Marketplace (South Virginia St. and Moana Lane).  This store was located next door to a Levitz Furniture store (a famous furniture chain). Around 1990, they closed their first location on Gentry Way and set about building up their business at the South Virginia Street location. By 1997, Levitz had left Reno because they were unable to compete in the furniture market there.  In 1999, the Bell family expanded their business into the Levitz building in order to accommodate all the lines of furniture sold by Reno Gallery.  Those lines luded Simmons Mattresses in particular.
