My first jewelry-creating experience happened in 1982, while I was working at a jewelry supply company in Albuquerque, NM... Then I got a little piece of brass, cut it into two triangles, hammered them with a ballpein hammer, poked a hole in the top of each, and hung them from earwires. Bang—I was hooked!. April of 1984, Contemporary Concepts was officially born when I applied for my state tax license so I could start selling some of my creations. In the summer of 1986, I moved to Florida to pursue jewelry making and the craft show circuit. By this time, I was working less and less with sheet metal, and more and more with wire and gemstones. This, I felt was where my creativity could really flourish. (The truth of that thinking is up to you!) For more than six years, I did craft shows full-time—about 45 shows per year. ... I traveled the length and breadth of Florida... I loved what I was doing, and I'm infinitely grateful for the experiences!
