The Urgent Care Department at Longmont Clinic provides patients with the opportunity to be evaluated by a doctor or medical provider when their regular doctor is unavailable. There are no appointments necessary. Patients are able to walk in, as they would the emergency room at a local hospital. It is often a lower cost alternative than a visit to a hospital emergency department, and usually there is much less time spent in the waiting room. The Urgent Care Department accepts most all forms of insurance and you need not be a patient of another Longmont Clinic doctor to use the services. In short, a patient should consider being seen in Urgent Care when he or she has a non-life-threatening medical problem which needs evaluation and treatment sooner than can be provided in a scheduled appointment with the patient s regular physician. Patients do not need a doctor s referral to be seen in Urgent Care, unless your health insurance provider requires it. Although, if you are unsure whether you need to be seen in Urgent Care, we recommend that you contact your primary physician, and they can provide guidance with regard to the need for urgent evaluation.
