Description
Gold jewelry has a long tradition of tradition. It is used to embellish artworks, given as gifts, worn as a status symbol, the physical manifestation of currency "it`s what currency stands for. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, chokers - all originate from a time before currency when people wore their wealth in order to keep it safe. Gold was probably first used by Egyptians as adornment and to embellish works of art and architecture. Gold jewelry is prized for its durability and beauty. Throughout human history it has symbolized idolatry, sanctity, and unions of all varieties. Pure gold is so soft that to make long-lasting jewelry it must be paired with an alloy to hold up over the years. Gold jewelry is usually considered pure when it uses the designation 24K, 22K, 18K, 14K and 10K designations all refer to the amount of gold versus the amount of alloy- usually copper, palladium or silver. Cost varies depending on the purity of the gold and whether or not gems, diamonds or stones are used. Gold earrings are a perfect romantic gift for a man or a woman because they match everything and also symbolize status. Whether they`re hoops, studs, drop or other styles, anyone who receives gold as a gift can see its worth. Gold can be worn for any occasion from formal gowns to denim and a T-shirt. When gold was used as currency, wealthy people used their gold to make jewelry (such as gold earrings) and wear it. This was a way to display wealth as well as keeping it on your person at all times. The gold standard was applied almost universally until 1933 when the United States abandoned it. Fiat currency is now used everywhere.
