I began working in the jewelry industry in 1982 for a small custom jewelry store while attending the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation from UT, I attended the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, California, receiving my Graduate Gemologist diploma in residence. I then returned to Dallas to work as the showroom manager for a dealer in colored gemstones. I have over twenty years of jewelry experience in Albuquerque as a gemologist and appraiser for Beauchamp and Co. Jewelers (1987 - 1996) and as an appraiser, manager and buyer for Shelton Jewelers (1996 – 2007). I founded Gemologically Speaking in 2007 to address the need for quality, independent appraisals in Albuquerque and greater New Mexico. It is my goal to provide my clients with the information or appraisal they require in a timely manner and at a reasonable price.
