I first started adjusting photos in Photoshop when I worked for a weekly newspaper, where I was an editor, writer and photographer. My first real effort at photo restoration was a labor of love. There was a treasured photograph of my parents from the 60s, it was one of a kind and the negative had been lost long ago. The original and the final results are on this page. It has become a family heirloon and now there's a digital negative. I learned a lot along the way. My interest in restoring old photos grew even more as I discovered an old box of photos my mother had tucked away. There were photos of ancestors I barely remember and some I'd never seen before. Since my mother had a box and a couple of photo albums full of old pictures in need of restoring, I had a full scale project on my hands. I'm still working on it. I am an active member of NAPP (National Assocaiton of Photoshop Professionals) and have taken classes from Adobe's top instructors, receiving 3 Continuing Education Units through their courses.
