John McEvoy has been a professional photojournalist for the past fifteen years. His love of people and the great outdoors help him to capture intimate moments of human interaction as well as the subtle beauty of nature. Primarily an environmental portrait artist and photojournalist, John makes memorable images by recording spontaneous moments and visible feelings. A variety of stock images from an extensive photo library are also available for publication. Writing and photographing stories of human interest are a persistent passion for John. Photographs and articles published in Asphalt Angels, Adventure West, American Photo, Business Week, Colorado Expression, Country Inns Bed and Breakfasts, Denver Life, Destination Colorado, Relax, Science of Mind, The Metropolitan and The West Elk Loop Scenic Byway Guidebook. Named one of the top ten finalist' in the first annual Calumet/Professional Photographer Magazine New Faces Award Competition. I love photographing people in a myriad of locations creating images that help the viewer to share the emotions of the subject. While I am creating these images I feel a sense of satisfaction that what is happening in the image may not change the world, but it may make a difference in the viewer's perspective about their own world. Tomorrow's journalist (today) will need to be able to change and adapt with the current and future technology that is evolving into something as yet only imagined. A successful journalist will be required to create a personal versatility that will grow with and into this new and ever changing world. It will necessitate a willingness to do whatever it takes to follow our dream and make it reality.
