Crystal Monet Onuoha, 29, is the founder, president and CEO of her 2nd venture Monet Photography, a new photography company based in the Dallas/Fortworth Metroplex that services all types of events. Born and raised in Newark, N.J., she holds an academic degree in Chemical Engineering, is pursuing a master’s degree at NJIT in Manufacturing System’s Engineering, and is studying to receive a Certificate in Professional Photography at the New York Institute of Photography. She has been involved with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship since the beginning in 1987. She has received numerous awards for her accomplishments such as Innovator of the Year and Most Outstanding Student Awards. As an adult, she enrolled and completed The Prudential Young Entrepreneur Program (PYEP) managed by The New Jersey Institute of Technology's Enterprise Development Center. Despite her lack of passion for engineering, she eventually pursued a career within the pharmaceutical industry where she worked at companies like Wyeth, Schering Plough, and Alpharma. In June 2005, she could not longer resist her calling to become self employed and to pursue her passions. She combined her love for photography and entreprenuership to give birth to her first company Classy Distinctions Photography. In April 2005, she moved from her birth city and currently resides in Texas where she is now operating her 2nd venture, Monet Photography.
