Four-star cruise lines

Four-star cruise lines

There are a wide range of cruise lines on the market offering something for everyone, depending on your age, interests, and price range, with five-star-plus ultra-deluxe cruises providing the height of elegance and luxury, to budget options which offer more limited facilities and services but good value. Here we focus on four-star cruise lines.

Many four-star cruise lines offer many of the amenities of five-star lines, at a lower cost. There are often smaller staterooms, fewer amenities and a slightly lower level of service, which is compensated for by more activities, theme cruises, lavish stage shows, and nightlife.

They tend to attract more diverse and younger passengers than five-star ships, and travel to popular destinations.

Some examples of four-star cruise lines:

Celebrity Cruises is competitively priced, with large, well-appointed ships that are known for their modern amenities, excellent spas and superb onboard entertainment. Celebrity ships cruise mass-market areas such as the Caribbean, as well as the Mediterranean and Baltic.

Costa Cruise Line is Europe’s #1 cruise line, sold mainly to the European market, and its Italian origins can be seen in the style of the ship and the food served. Costa’s large ships cruise the Caribbean and Europe, offering a wide variety of entertainment and dining options.

Cunard Line is one of the oldest and most prestigious cruise lines, and is the only line that offers regular scheduled transatlantic crossings. The classic liner QEII is the fastest passenger ship in the world, carrying 1,877 passengers in 4 different classes. The elegant Queen Mary II is one of the largest ships in the world.
