Wedding flowers and floral arrangements

When you are clear on your exact wedding colors and theme, speak to your chosen florist, who will work with you to design the perfect arrangements for you and your wedding party.

Coordinating your wedding flowers

Take along a picture of your wedding dress to help choose the right design to complement it, with fabric swatches if possible. Also take pictures, fabric swatches and/or samples of the bridesmaids’ dresses, the groom’s vest and tie, and table linen, if possible. This will help prevent color clashes on the day and ensure that the whole day is beautifully color coordinated.

Here is where your wedding folder will come into its own: show the florist pictures of floral designs that have caught your eye and discuss how they can be incorporated into your wedding flowers.

It is important to check that your favorite flowers will be in season and/or available on your wedding day. Out-of-season flowers will be a lot more expensive, so check with your florist.

Typical floral arrangements for weddings:

  • the bride’s bouquet,
  • bridesmaids’ bouquets,
  • boutonnieres for the men,
  • corsages for the ladies,
  • table decorations,
  • flower arches,
  • flowers for the church,
  • flowers for cars,
  • flower baskets for flower girls,
  • and floral hair accessories.
