Preparing a bridal purse

Prepare a bridal purse

Perhaps you never leave the house without a purse, so why should your wedding day be any different?

There is a fantastic selection of bridal purses and pouches available for brides, which can be made in the same fabric as your bridal gown, or embellished with rhinestones, pearls or beads to match your gown.

You may want to look for a purse that you can use after the wedding as an evening bag. It could even be dyed a different color to make it even more practical.

Even though your purse is designed to complement your bridal attire, you may want to pass the purse to your mother, bridesmaid or a trusted friend during the marriage ceremony.

Use your bridal purse to hold any emergency items that you feel you may need on the day.

Here are some suggested items:

  • tissues

  • cosmetics

  • a small bottle of your wedding perfume

  • spare pair of contact lenses or case with liquid if you wear them

  • your cell phone (fully charged and with credit)

  • safety pins

  • hair pins

  • needle and thread (black and white thread should suffice)

  • headache medication

  • spare pantyhose

  • breath mints

  • mineral water facial spray

  • brush or comb and mirror

  • a small snack such as nuts, dried fruit or biscuits to keep hunger pangs at bay…

Totally agree on the dried fruit, I did this when I got married, thank god for that, was so hungry after all those photos, couldn't wait to get to dinner!
