The words of love

Many couples like to have a family member or friend do a reading during their wedding ceremony.

You may prefer a religious piece, a passage from a favorite book, or a love poem.

Your reading could reflect your religious beliefs regarding love and marriage, or it could be another way of expressing your love for one another on your wedding day.

Think carefully when choosing the best person for the reading, making sure they are confident, have a clear voice and can project their voice throughout the church or venue.

We offer a range of choices for wedding readings, with a selection of poems about love and marriage, marriage blessings from different cultures, and Bible passages.

Here are a couple of our favorites to whet your appetite...

First Corinthians 13:4-8, The Bible

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
