If you yearn for a romantic escape to a tropical Caribbean Island paradise, your quest has ended. Hix Island House rewards you with a luxurious retreat amidst rustic Zen-like architectural elegance.

Offering refreshingly unique comfort for body and soul, Hix Island House is located in a 13-acre natural refuge of native trees, tall grasses, birds and butterflies where you'll be at one with nature and savor the peaceful bliss of privacy, silence, and tranquility (no phones, television, or typical room and turn-down service).

At Hix Island House the outdoors becomes indoors. Our innovative self-contained spacious lofts highlight matchless views of the Caribbean and palm-lined beaches minutes away; open-air private terraces and outdoor showers bathe in the scent of trade winds and night- blooming jasmine under star-studded skies.

Steps from your room, nestled into the hillside, you'll find one of the Caribbean's most magnificent pools, where afternoon relaxation on its panoramic deck becomes an art in itself.

Ecology is important at Hix Island House. Solar panels augment the electricity and hot water. Water is collected and your shower and basins flow to guavas, bananas, papayas and lemons; giving back to Nature. At Hix Island House, style, Nature, and serenity merge to become a satisfying indulgence.

Yoga and massage is also available at Hix Island House. Just imagine a soothing outdoor massage, what a treat for the senses.

The architect's philosophy

Architect and owner of Hix Island House, John Hix, explains the philosophy behind the unique architecture:

"Our guests often ask why Hix Island House is the way that it is. To me, things that I find in Nature are more fascinating and beautiful than things that are made by man. I strive to make my buildings fit with Nature. I also endeavor to understand the forces in Nature that cause those natural things to be what they are. It therefore seems to me that, as an architect, I should attempt to understand those same natural forces that would affect my buildings."
